Privacy policy

• The name you type when you start or join a game, and the gender option you pick.
• Your answers to the game's questions (to build your report).
• When you talk in the voice call, your audio goes straight between you and the other players (WebRTC). We never record or store it.
• Basic technical data so the game works (browser type, when you visited). Messages sent through the “Send me a secret message” page stay anonymous.

Matchy, where you play with new people, needs an account and is only for adults (18 or older). When you sign up you confirm your age and agree to the following:

• We store your name, birthday, gender (optional) and a scrambled version of your password (we can't read it).
• Other Matchy players see your name, your age (worked out from your birthday) and your gender, and when you're online.
• Your game answers are used to work out your match score with the other player.
• Messages in a Matchy chat are stored so both of you can read them later. Only the two people in the chat can see them.
• We keep the date you gave your consent and which version of this policy you agreed to.

Each player's first Matchy chat is free, and they get one more free chat every week; otherwise opening a chat costs €1.99. We keep a record of each free chat used. Payments are handled by Stripe, which acts as the seller for this purchase and handles tax. We never see or store your card details: you enter them on Stripe's own page. We only keep a record that the payment happened (amount, date and which chat it opened). See Stripe's privacy policy.

Only to run the game: connecting you with the other players, building your secret report, and improving the service. We never sell your data to anyone.

We use Google AdSense to show ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this website and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners serve ads to you and other users.

You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings, or learn more about how ads use cookies in Google's policy.

We don't share personal data with anyone else, except the technical providers that run the site (such as Google for ads and Stripe for payments) or when the law requires it.

You can ask us to see or delete your data, including your Matchy account and chats, and you can withdraw your consent at any time by asking us to delete your account. Game data is removed on its own some time after the game ends. To reach us about anything, use the secret message page.
